Dr. Daria Smirnova is a Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychotherapist and Head of the Institute of Mental Health at University Reaviz and an Associate Professor in Clinical Medicine. She also practices adult psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Multidisciplinary University Clinic Reaviz. Previously, she served as Director of the International Centre for Education and Research in Neuropsychiatry (ICERN) at Samara State Medical University (2021–2024). With an MD (Honours) in General Medicine, a Psychiatry specialization, and a PhD in Medical Sciences (Psychiatry), her research focuses on affective disorders, schizophrenia, and psycholinguistics. Dr. Smirnova has led and contributed to multiple international research projects, including studies on schizophrenia and bilingualism, language dysfunction, and global mental health impacts. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers (63 indexed in Scopus) and authored book chapters on schizophrenia, dementia, and mental health. She serves on editorial boards of several psychiatry journals, including Asian Journal of Psychiatry and Frontiers in Psychiatry.
