Axon Foundation for Research and Development has partnered with the Bahoz Center for Children with Developmental Disabilities to conduct a comprehensive research study focused on developmental disabilities. This collaboration aims to explore the challenges faced by children with developmental disabilities and their families, assess the effectiveness of current support systems, and identify areas for improvement in services and interventions. Through this research, we seek to generate evidence-based insights that will inform policymakers, healthcare providers, and educators, ensuring better support mechanisms and inclusive strategies for children with developmental disabilities. The findings from this study will contribute to improving early intervention programs, access to specialized care, and overall well-being for affected children and their families.
Axon Foundation for Research and Development, in collaboration with Koya University, is developing an AI-powered mental health chatbot designed to function as a virtual mental health clinician in the Kurdish language. This innovative project aims to enhance access to mental health support, particularly for underserved communities where professional services are limited. The chatbot will provide psychoeducation, mental health assessments, self-help strategies, and coping mechanisms based on evidence-based psychological interventions. It will also guide users to appropriate professional services when needed, ensuring a structured referral system for more complex cases. Designed to incorporate culturally relevant mental health concepts, the chatbot will improve accessibility, inclusivity, and scalability of mental health care for Kurdish-speaking populations, making AI-driven mental health support an integral part of humanitarian and public health interventions.
