Substance Use, Abuse, and Addiction

Axon Foundation for Research and Development actively works on issues related to drug addiction and substance use, addressing both the psychosocial and social dimensions of addiction. As part of our broader MHPSS mandate, we engage in research and project implementation focused on prevention, treatment, and recovery for individuals and communities impacted by substance use. Our initiatives include conducting studies on the causes, consequences, and patterns of addiction, as well as implementing community-based interventions that promote awareness, resilience, and access to care. We work in partnership with NGOs, rehabilitation centers, and local institutions to deliver support that is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and grounded in evidence. Through a combined approach of research, capacity building, and field-level programming, Axon Foundation for Research and Development aims to reduce stigma, support recovery, and address the broader societal challenges linked to addiction and substance use.
