Digital Mental Health
Axon Foundation for Research and Development is actively working on digital mental health and artificial intelligence (AI) to expand access to mental health support for both humanitarian populations and the general public. This is one of our emerging focus areas where we blend innovation with compassion to meet diverse mental health needs.
For humanitarian contexts, we are developing and implementing electronic Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (eMHPSS) tools tailored to crisis-affected populations, ensuring they receive timely, remote, and culturally appropriate psychosocial support.
In addition, our team is building AI-powered mental health chatbots designed to serve broader populations, acting as digital mental health clinicians that provide basic psychological support, guidance, and early screening. These tools are especially useful in regions with limited access to mental health professionals and aim to reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking behavior.
Through these innovations, Axon Foundation for Research and Development is leading the way in transforming how mental health services are delivered ensuring accessibility, scalability, and relevance in both humanitarian and general settings.
