Rudaw Media recently carried out a media interview featuring our research on the psychological consequences of trauma among Yazidi survivors, as well as the wider mental health challenges faced within their communities.
The Rudaw report highlights research findings presented at an international scientific conference on Yazidi genocide survivors, demonstrating that many individuals including survivors and their offspring continue to suffer from significant psychological distress. These difficulties include post-traumatic stress reactions (PTSD and CPTSD), depression, and ongoing emotional problems persisting long after the traumatic events they experienced.
