We are proud to announce that the Axon Foundation for Research and Development founder has received the Global Leadership Excellence Award for Digital Mental Health, a prestigious international recognition of our pioneering efforts to advance digital mental health in Iraq.

This recognition was awarded during the eMHIC Congress (eMHIC25) held in Toronto, Canada, from 19-21 November 2025. Every year eMHIC acknowledges award recipients from member countries to receive national, global and lifetime achievement awards recognising their exceptional contribution to the Digital Mental Health domain by demonstrating noteworthy leadership to implement Digital Mental Health solutions at scale.

The award honors the Foundation’s leadership, innovation, and impact in the field of digital and electronic mental health. Our delegation, represented by Darya Rosta Ahmed, delivered keynote speeches on two flagship digital mental health projects, showcasing innovative solutions developed for conflict-affected and low-resource settings. These projects reflect our commitment to transforming mental health services through research, technology, and capacity building.

This global recognition marks a major milestone for Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in the field of digital mental health. We extend our sincere gratitude to our international partners, collaborators, and supporters who made this achievement possible.
